Hi All!
We arrived last night in Split, Croatia and made it to our Airbnb. The host Ivana, is amazing! She met us at the door, showed us in, then helped us with some tips around town and places to go based on what we already had planned.

Once settled we hit the sack and planned on sleeping in, so we didn’t set an alarm.
Once we woke up, we were very much in relax mode. Took our time getting up, eating breakfast and planning out our day.
We did some laundry and since it’s so hot in Croatia, everything is air dry.

We decided we wanted to do home cooked meals for a few nights. While we finished our oatmeal we made a grocery list and then walked to the closest one to pick up our ingredients.
While walking to the grocery store we found a street market with a ton of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, nuts, bread, cheese, you name it! We picked up a majority of what we needed there instead; excited to cook it all up!

On our way back to the Airbnb we walked through Diocletian’s Palace and took in all the old architecture. It was pretty busy and very hot, plus we had groceries to put away, so we didn’t stay too long.

Once the groceries were away we prepped some snacks and headed toward Trogir, to have a beach picnic and later enjoy dinner at one of there seafood restaurants.

We parked and ventured through Trogir, exploring and enjoying the sites.

We then walked to Okrug Gornji beach and found a spot to lay out. We jumped in the bright water to cool off from time to time, but mostly we just sat enjoying the waves and scenery. It was so beautiful and felt like we were in true vacation mode.

After a few hours we walked back into Trogir center and found a great place to eat dinner along the water. Zaq had the seafood spaghetti and I had the seafood risotto, both were exquisite!

(Totally our Yatch that just pulled up) 😉

We walked around the alleys of Trogir a little more and found some Croatian kitties enjoying a late supper by the generosity of a local, as they were definitely stray. But one still let me get close!

We also saw some amazing flora growing off the building or in planters.

Tuckered out and wanting to shower off the sea salt and sunscreen grime, we made our way back to Split.
We’ve only been in Croatia for 24 hours, but something we find odd, you can pretty much park where you can fit. And most do so all along the sidewalks.

(Parked for the night outside our Airbnb)
Our goal is to have beach time every day while here, so be expecting more ocean front views of the Mediterranean.

What a great vacation. From snow and mountains to the heat and sea.
