Brussels to Amsterdam

Woke up early to have our last coffee at Grand Place in Brussels, then we headed over to Reebok CrossFit Brussels for a butt kicking WOD.

5 Rounds (40 min time cap) with a partner

800m Row (partner 1) then Farmer Carry Hold (partner 2,) switching every 200m, every switch 15 synchronized burpees.

It was a VERY hard workout, all about pacing during the burpees and knowing when to push the pace in the row, farmers hold felt more like active rest ha ha ha. Their space was huge and so great to visit while we’re here.

Then it was off to the train station to make our way to Amsterdam! We snacked on some bars and we’re looking forward to our first meal in Amsterdam.

After we got checked in and dropped our luggage off, we headed to rent our bikes, because although the tram is useful, biking it so much faster! At this point we were starved.

We biked over to get a Dutch dinner at Moeders Restaurant, however, they were fully booked! Our tummies were so unhappy to hear this. So I made reservations for tomorrow, because the smells were amazing!

We instead opted for a German dinner of schinzel, potatoes and beer, it was close by and had great reviews. Since it was our first real meal after a long day of travel, we were barely able to get this picture before our plates were cleaned.

With food in our system, we had renewed energy and hopped on our bikes to check out all the canals and made our way to The  Anne Frank House. Which was tremendous to see and to read the exerpts from Anne Frank.  Zaq and I were so moved by the whole experience.

Afterward, we took a long bike ride around the canals, it’s a clear beautiful night here in Amsterdam. We wanted to get the most of it before turning in for tomorrow.

Goede nacht!
