The End

Today marks the final day of our Europe adventure and we’re ending it at Blue Lagoon, Iceland. Bring on the pampering and relaxation!

Blue lagoon is a thermogenic spring that contains natural silica, algae and minerals, these are excellent for the skin and are what give the water is electric light blue color.

We wasted no time getting in the warm water and just lazing about. It’s so much larger that I thought and it was easy to have our own little corner to ourselves.

We put on our silica mask and went to grab some drinks while we wandered and floated around. The pool naturally refreshes the water from the springs every 40 hours, so as you mosey through the water you can find those warmer spots where it’s pushing new water in, mhmmm it was nice.

We  jumped under the falls to wash off our mask away before we went to sit in the steam bath. This is steam diverted from the hot springs, so it’s not the best smelling…but it felt really nice and afterward my skin was super soft.

Back in the lagoon we went for round two of mask and drinks, this time we did the Algae mask. We explored some of the farther reaches of the pool. Found a nice spot and just reflected on what an crazy and amazing time we’ve had. More importantly, how great it was to end it here, spending all day at blue lagoon.

After washing off we grabbed our bathrobes and headed to lunch at their restaurant called LAVA. We both ordered a the seafood speacial, which was mussels, langoustine soup and cod with barley, fennel and dill. Everything was amazing and it was nice to eat a full meal again. No quesadillas in sight! Ha ha ha.

More than content, we went to nap in the shallow waters of the lagoon, just being at peace.

Bye, Iceland!

Too soon, we got in our the showers and went to return our campervan, which was so amazing for getting around! I highly recommend it for anyone planning to visit Iceland, best deal around, and there are campsites everywhere!

Once we got all checked in for our flight, it really hit us. We did it! Although it’s bittersweet, we’re very happy to return to our sweet fur babies and chickens. We’ve missed them so much and can’t wait to shower them with kisses.

Thank you all for traveling along with the Smiths! Feel free to email us with any questions or if you want more details on anything.

All Our Best,
