From Paris to Brussels

Today is bittersweet, as we have our first half of the day in Paris and then we’re off by train to Brussels. We have loved Paris so much!

We had our usual morning pastry, coffee and tea, then we went to see the Musée de l’Armée where Napolean’s final resting place is as well as all French Military History. It was so awesome to learn about all the stages of armour and when they switched over to uniforms.

We got so caught up in all the amazing history around us, we had to race to catch our train to Brussels…but we made it!

Once in Brussels we took their metro to our hostel, which doesn’t have too bad a view. 😬👌🏼

We met a couple of our bunk mates, one is from Korea, the other is from Savannah, but he used to live in Greenlake in Seattle for a couple years, so we had loads to chat about! Once we put our stuff down we headed out to explore.

Grand Place was, well…GRAND. It was huge and beautiful; the pictures don’t do it justice.

We wondered over to Jeanneke-Pis, a bar that has more than 50 beers on tap, and yes, I had one.

It was a very popular place and was pretty packed so after our beers we headed out to eat dinner else where. We found this awesome authentic Belgium restaurant that I could not begin to pronounce: Nüetnigenough.

It smelled so good the moment we entered that waiting for our order was so hard! We got Piglet filet, bacon and plums with Ardenne Saison beer and Lamb meatballs with goat cheese, sage and “Brusseleir” beer sauce…yum!

After that we strolled down to Manneken Pis and enjoyed loaded Belgium waffles.

With our tummies full, we headed back to clean up before bed and get a good nights rest for our full Brussels adventure tomorrow!
